Parts 1) Which activities we have done today. To learn, reflect about what? Name, conditions to do it, which objectives, it is for children or adults or both, any other version (Can you imagine or do you know any other activity to do with same or similar purpose?
In today's session, we have started to clarify doubts about how future sessions will be organized until the end of the course. We then moved around the classroom space and used our body movement, breathing and stretching of our limbs to relax and become aware of our body.
The first activity we did was a game in which half of my classmates were on the ground, as observers, and the other half were standing, as participants. So, this activity that we can do with children is called "Phone." But despite knowing the traditional procedure of the game, this time we used our body to move it and repeat.
The process was as follows:
1-We have placed a group of 6/7 people on the crescent moon
2-They were all facing the same wall, which meant that few received a broad perspective of the situation.
3-The first person, with his body, represented a situation (when I did it, this was "making an omelette") and taught the observers.
4- He touched the shoulder of the individual next to him, who had not previously been watching him, and proceeded to do all the action.
5-With just one execution, the other individual touches his shoulder and reproduces what he has observed.
And so all the time.
I enjoyed it a lot, the fact that I played it with my body and its movement made me more alert than if we had played it the traditional way. Although I made a mess and when I observed the action I had to imitate I did not find a logic, I tried to slowly reproduce all the movements, which I think has helped the next person, as this has found the logic in the movements that everyone observed except me.
We then divided into groups of three and, using mime, had to guess the object reflected in the posters that had been given to us earlier. My classmates have guessed when it represented a thermometer and a stamp, but not the puzzle. However, from my perspective, I think I have done very well and I feel more and more comfortable and free to use my body to try to convey something or some specific concept.
We finally put two groups together and performed an ad; employing an invented object with a non-real use, we have generated the logo, the giggle and the performance of a tele-transporter flashlight.
We’ve finally finished displaying our poster from last week called “Space”.
3) Connections with the concepts of the subject, articles, readings, videos, your own experience or learnings from other subjects, degrees…
Last semester, in groups, we analyzed the behavior of a child over a period of time in different sessions; we had to define and sequence with evidence their milestones in all areas of development. I remember one of the articles that helped me understand the baby's behavior the most was about reconsidered imitation and its impact on young children. So today’s session made me think that reproducing actions is something we’re not used to doing and we can feel even weird, but it comes from our beginnings. Here is the article.
